Leon: The Professional - Natalie Portman, Jean Reno and Gary Oldman

I take no pleasure in taking life if it's from a person who doesn't care about it.

Leon: The Professional. It is a Drama/Mystery of 1994 and it won several awards during that year. The director and writer was Luc Besson, the productions were Gaumont and Les Films du Dauphin. The main characters were played by very famous actors called Jean Reno and Natalie Portman, who at the time was 13 years old. Gary Oldman played Stansfield, the corrupt police officer. He was also an actor in Harry Potter as Sirius Black.

What is the movie about? It is about Leon, the cleaner and Matilda, his neighbour. Because this is a really famous movie, I hear about it almost everywhere I go, you probably know what I mean when I say cleaner. Yup. He is a hitman. Let me describe Leon in 1 sentence. Leon is an isolated child-like man, he doesn't like change, he lives by his own ideologies and morals, although he doesn't really approve of them a lot. So when Matilda's whole family gets shot because of a drug scheme with a corrupt police officer and Matilda survivies, she goes to her neighbour, Leon. He technically saves her life by letting her in when the killers were still on the crime scene, which means not letting her get murdered by the corrupt policemen.

After that, Matilda and Leon develop a father-to-daughter relationship. They travel after Matilda has several incidents. Matilda also learns how to clean, hmm, clean, if you know what I am talking about. She wants revenge on the people that killed her family, her brother, in particular.

The actors did a breathtaking job on this movie. If the actors weren't so good at what they are doing, this movie, with all the words, actions and gangster vibe, would be ridiculous. I experienced a whole emotional merry-go-round, experiencing joy in some moments, hate, anticipation, sadness in others. It was 2 unforgettable hours. Even today, a few days later as I am reviewing the movie, I can feel goosebumps on my skin and remember almost all dialogues. One of the quite few movies I would give a whopping 10/10.

Overall: 10/10
