Hello everyone, my name is Zheng Maria and today I want to talk about the movie called Agatha and the Truth of Murder. When you hear the combination of words 'Agatha' and 'Murder' you think about Agatha Christie automatically, don't you? Well, this movie is indeed about her.
The actors were Ruth Bradley, Pippa Haywood, Dean Andrews and others. The director was Terry Loane and the writer was Tom Dalton.
But let's get down to the plot. This is not a book screen adaptation. This is a story about what might have happened during 11 days of a mysterious disappearance of Agatha Christie. Some background information first - in 1926 a famous detective-writer Agatha Christie went missing for 11 days. During that time she was known to feel pressure, writing and marriage crisis. Nobody knows what exactly happened during that time, so this movie is basically a theory of what could happen.
The movie suggests that Christie actually solved a real murder during this time. There is a scene in the beginning of the movie where we can see a guy killing an old lady in the train. This kind of scared me because nobody would want to get killed in the train. There was actually a motive. One of the possible ones was money - the killed lady was rich. The crime occured 6 years before the other events.
So Agatha decides to solve it because one of her fans wants her to. Christie disappears and invites all suspects. How does she know who is the suspect? Well, her fan told her. They both invite the suspects and see how they react to money and a made up company that makes them think they are ancestors of a really rich guy. Thought, they got exposed 3 days later, the suspects still found out about that. But! Agatha solved the problem. And that’s important. That was actually a very creative way to solve it, though there still were some other people murdered in there.
Anyways, Agatha Christie was portrayed very well by Ruth Bradley. I really liked the performance and the actress was beautiful. I think that the actors were all performing quite well. I don’t really know or understand why this movie has a 6.5 out of 10 on IMDB, but it’s actually good.
