In this article I am going to talk about the movie called Julie & Julia. I found it very inspiring because it is partly about a blogger, and I am also a blogger. The movie producer, director and screenplay writer was Nora Ephron. Julie & Julia is based on a book by Julie Powell. Yes, it is the Julie from the title. This is all a true story and the book that Julie wrote is absolutely true. Both Julie and Julia existed and you can even read about them on Wikipedia. Julia Child was played by Meryl Streep and Julie Powell was played by Amy Adams. They are both very pretty and I enjoyed their playing together in one movie.
I don't know why exactly, but I was scared to watch Julie & Julia. I had quite many opportunities to watch it before, but I didn't. Perhaps, I was scared it would be a waste of time or it would be a very hard movie that would make me sad. But finally, I got here. And oh my, I wish I watched the movie sooner! This is so inspiring and in some moments, so funny! What is it all about?
Julie Powell and Julia Child lived in different times, 40 years apart from each other, they weren't friends or relatives. They had 2 things in common - they loved cooking and they had good husbands. Basically, in 2002 Julie starts her blog. It is a challenge - 365 days, 524 recipes and 1 tiny apartment. Julie took the recipes from Julia Child's recipe book. Eventually, Julie kind of becomes Julia. They start to look at life in the same way, they are one, even though Julia doesn't know Julie. Let's get back to the blog. The blog tracks Julie's success. Meanwhile, the movie shows us moments of Julia's life and how she became famous. And you know, I think Julie and Julia are similar. I think if they were to be of the same age, probably they would be very good friends. But I don't know because Julia died in 2005. She knew about the website, Julie's blog. What did she say, hmm?... You will find out.
This movie is all about inspiration, in my opinion, not a tutorial on how to become a famous blogger. While I was searching the internet on Julie and Julia, I found myself a curious inspiration and it is a great man. You probably won't be surprised. It is Bill Gates. He has his own book website, blog where you can see a lot of interesting book reviews. It is called gatesnotes.com/Books. I also subscribed to his YouTube channel, which is very high-quality. There I can find many ideas for my own videos because my channel has a quite similar topic. Same goes for the blog. And yes, this article was not sponsored by Bill Gates, by the way. But all I am saying is that, if you want to be successful in something you got to look at famous, talented, smart people and try to be even better that them in something. For me, it is programming. You might not succeed, but as they say "If you shoot for the stars, you will at least hit the moon". So any work is always worth it, even if you don't see the results immediately.
